Camp Peralta, Jamindan, Capiz – 62 lady soldiers and 30 civilian employees of 3rd Infantry Division deployed all over Western Visayas will benefit the Comprehensive Reproductive Health Program that includes: (1) Maternal Care to include pre and post natal services; (2) Prevention and Management of Reproductive Tract Infections;

(3) Responsible, ethical, legal, safe and effective methods of Family Planning; (4) Education and counseling on sexuality and sexual and reproductive health; (5) Prevention and Management of Reproductive Tract Cancers and other gynecological conditions and disorders; and (6) Promotion of healthy lifestyle activities as one of the strategies to prevent related diseases.

Camp Nakar, Lucena City- Military and police personnel from Southern Luzon Command (SOLCOM) and Quezon Provincial Police Office joined at the bloodletting activity dubbed as “Blood Donation Heroes” at Quezon Provincial Capitol Buliding, Lucena City on Wednesday, December 6, 2012.

Col Generoso L. Bolina, spokesperson, SOLCOM said the activity intends to help save lives by supplying blood to the blood bank of Quezon Medical Center (QMC) in Lucena City. “The bloodletting is also part of the pre-anniversary activity of the 77th Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Foundation Day on December 21.The Armed Forces of the Philippines targets to collect 77,000 centiliters (cc) of blood donated by the soldiers and other partner organization nationwide,” Bolina said.

Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City—As exciting as Pacquiao-Marquez 4 is, the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ search and rescue missions and humanitarian assistance operations will remain unhampered as our troops address the devastation in the wake of Typhoon Pablo that ravaged several provinces in the south. 

At the same time, the AFP will maintain its day-to-day security operations to ensure peace and stability in the country during the highly anticipated match between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez on Sunday, December 9.

To personally assess the Area of Operations, particularly on the aspect of readiness as well as the morale and welfare of troops, Commander of Western Command LTGEN JUANCHO M SABBAN AFP and party visited military troops deployed to the nine (9) Philippine-held islands in the Kalayaan Islands Group (KIG) at the West Philippine Sea on 19-22 Nov 2012.

The Commander’s visit to all the nine island detachments, which is the first time that WESCOM has undertaken and is also one of the Command activities in relation to Yuletide Season, served as an opportunity for the military personnel to meet and talk to the Commander in person about their issues and concerns. Christmas gifts, which included groceries and other supplies, were doled out to the deployed soldiers.

Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City—As part of an institutionalized effort towards gender equality, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Department of National Defense join hands with the Philippine Commission on Women in campaigning to end violence against women (VAW) in an 18-day campaign starting Today, November 25 to December 12.

The campaign to end VAW will feature a series of activities starting with today’s Advocacy Walk. The activities will aim for the elimination of all forms of violence against women and strengthening local and international efforts. It will also include a simultaneous Flag Raising of all participating agencies, livelihood training, gender symposium, and other outreach programs.
