NPA war materiel recovered in Oriental Mindoro clash

Camp Nakar, Lucena City– Army troopers on combat patrol recovered a considerable number of war materiel the other day after a 10-minute gun battle with more or less 7 NPA rebels around 9:00 in the morning.

Citing the report from Ltc. Wilbur C. Mamawag, Commanding Officer of 4th Infantry Battalion (4IB), 2nd Infantry Division (2ID), SOLCOM spokesperson Col. Generoso L. Bolina said that a scout platoon belonging to 4IB was dispatched to carry out the patrol. It was initiated based on a tip given by concerned citizens that rebels are extorting money from the masses at vicinity Sitio Liberty, Brgy Benli in Bulalacao, Oriental Mindoro.

Sulu LGU welcomes MBLT-6

Hon. Abdursakur M Tan, Governor of Sulu, Sulu Island Command (SIC) and 3rd Marine Brigade will be holding a welcome ceremony for the Arrival of Marine Battalion Landing Team 6 (MBLT-6) headed by its Commanding Officer, LTCOL ROMY R DOLOJAN PN(M) (GSC) last Saturday at Jolo Pier, Jolo, Sulu. 

As a Philippine Marine Corp’s tradition, after seven (7) month retraining period conducted in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, the said battalion will occupy the area of responsibility (AOR) of MBLT-5 which will soon transfer to Tawi-Tawi.

2 NPA extortionists apprehended in Quezon

Camp Nakar, Lucena City – Two NPA extortionists were apprehended by joint forces of army troopers and barangay tanod members yesterday, August 10 in Brgy Tongko, Tayabas, Quezon at about 7 o’clock in the morning.

Quoting the report from LtCol. Benjamin G. Batara Jr, CO of 1st Special Forces Battalion (1SFB), SOLCOM spokesperson Colonel Generoso L. Bolina identified the two apprehended NPA extortionists as JR Carabido aka Enteng, 18 years old and Alvin Carabido aka Ryan, 15 years old.

NPA bomb maker captured in Quezon

Camp Nakar, Lucena City – An NPA rebel known for being a notorious bomber that operates in Quezon province was captured yesterday, August 10 by the AFP and PNP authorities in Brgy Danlagan, Lopez town around 11 o’clock in the morning.

Citing reports from LtCol. Rodolfo L. Labadia Jr, CO of 85th Infantry Battalion (85IB), 2ID, SOLCOM spokesperson Colonel Generoso L. Bolina identified the captured NPA person as Alberto Macasinag aka JY, the squad leader of SPN AMLAY, an NPA group operating in Quezon.
