After a brief hiatus, the official publication of the Civil Relations Service, Armed Forces of the Philippines, the “Soldier of All” is being launched as a special issue illustrating the military’s wider role in the automated May 10 elections. Formerly carrying the name “Tala”, this reformatted publication is an avenue for the AFP to underscore the military’s professionalism in the corps as its way of life and its role as guardian of the nation.

Special Issue (May 2010)

 The AFP, led by Chief of Staff Gen Delfin N Bangit, joined the thanksgiving mass for the successful conduct of the Honest, Orderly and Peaceful May 2010 elections at the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros. Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales defined stakeholders such as the AFP, PNP, and the PPCRV who worked and burdened the arduous and challenging path just to ensure credible elections as, “… gifts to the Filipino people who are now deservingly proud of the country and the democracy.”

Special Issue (July 2010)

 The Philippine government has been engaged in a prolonged war against the CPP-NPA-NDF or CNN. While the CNN has failed to grab power even after 41 years, it can still endure unless an ideal campaign plan of a holistic approach where all stakeholders unite to address the multifaceted dimensions of insurgency.

An effective counter-insurgency campaign plan places great demands on the ability and decisiveness of local executives to end insurgency.This magazine captures the indispensable role of the LGUs in counter-insurgency and hopes to serve as a stimulus not only for military commanders...

Special Issue (September 2010)

...the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ advocacy of upholding human rights, which endeavors to undertake its own ways of promoting and protecting human rights. It is the AFP’s earnest desire to propagate human rights values, principles and ideals for these to be internalized by every soldier and become a norm in the corps.

It would do no less to continue to be the protector, guardian and defender of the nation, especially its people.
